Chateau St. Julien sits among gardens, fields and oak forests. Fruit orchards and a large garden provide seasonal produce, from wild strawberries in the early summer to grapes, figs and walnuts in the fall. The setting invites relaxation. The 56-acre grounds feature walking trails and private corners to sit and read.
The fully renovated chateau facilities can comfortably accommodate 50+ guests in chateau (45) and guest cottage (6).
The detached carriage house has been remodeled into a light filled Banquet Hall which is normally used for receptions but is also easily adaptable for seminars and as studio space for arts and yoga groups.
The Park may be rented separately for outdoor receptions and events and is often used for weddings in conjunction with the Banquet Hall.
The chateau has 16 guest rooms in a variety of sizes and configurations. The beautifully remodeled rooms and suites, all feature private baths and some suites can sleep up to 7. Many have marble fireplaces, and some feature cozy sitting rooms and even turrets. The chateau is normally set with beds to accommodate a maximum of 34 guests. 11 extra full-sized single beds can be added as indicated on the Floor Plans
Reception & Dining Rooms
The chateau's suite of classically proportioned reception rooms and library on the second floor are ideal for individual relaxation as well as elegant parties of up to 80. Guests dine on the ground floor in the ornate "salon des miroirs" with seating for up to 50, the smaller lounge/dining room, or on the colonnaded terrace overlooking the garden.
The chateau has a fully updated kitchen where meals can be self-catered, prepared in-house by our catering staff, or brought in by one of the region's excellent caterers. It is equipped with commercial-grade range, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher as well as tableware to feed 50, and large enough to accommodate an efficient catering crew, friends cooking together or a cooking class.
The beautifully proportioned banquet hall seats 200 and has a dance floor, catering kitchen, and accessible restoom facilities. It can be rented separately from the chateau and has it's own access and dedicated parking. Tables and chairs are available.
The chateau's three -bedroom detached cottage provides handicapped accessible accommodations as well as overflow space for the chateau. With it's open beam ceiling, small kitchenette and sitting room it serves as a charming self-contained living unit which can also be rented separately.
Parks & Gardens
The peace and serenity of the chateau can be felt the moment you pass through the chateau gate, beneath the canopy of the giant plane tree and into the castle courtyard. The extent and variety of the landscape make the park and gardens ideal not only for relaxation and reflection but also for all manner of events including wedding ceremonies, cocktail receptions, gala parties, photo shoots, concerts, rallies etc. All enjoy a special elegance when set against the backdrop of the old chateau.
